Texan II GPS System

Like
the Radio, the T-6/A Texan II's Global Positioning System
is quite a complex system and beyond our current programming
knowledge, however for the purposes of Microsoft Flight
Simulator we have chosen to use only a single function
displayed on the T-6 GPS. The following information
relates to the single flightplanner route mode used
within the IRIS Pro T-6/A Texan II.
The
GPS system displays a number of functions; (Left hand
side)
- Currently
selected navigation reference point (Left) and next
selected navigation reference point (right)
-
Course Deviation Indexer
-
Distance in nautical miles (NM) from aircraft position
to next selected navigation reference point
-
Ground Speed
- Estimated
Time of Arrival at next selected navigation reference
point
- Bearing
to flightplan route.
GPS
display items; (Right hand side)
- Bearing
Direct To the next selected navigation reference point.
-
Current Altitude
-
Current Latitude value of the aircraft
-
Current Longitude value of the aircraft
The
bottom left of the GPS display shows either GPS or NAV1
depending on the selected navigation method on the EFIS
panel.
For
those people wishing to use the stock Microsoft Flight
Simulator GPS, we have provided an alternate aircraft
version selectable within flight simulator. In that
aircraft type, the stock GPS can be opened by maximising
the Texan II GPS in the main window.
